Why should you get to know Spoonless?
I'm a guy inspired by nature and maths and science, the beauty and complexity of nature, technology and people and how they interact. I have traveled fairly extensively, and wish to do much much more - preferably with my partner at my side.
I'm quite easy going and get along with most people. I don't invent or seek sources of stress. I don't need a reason to help someone - I need a reason not to. The first stanza of the Disederata sums it up well:
Go placidly amidst the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.
I tend to work hard and play hard. I studied er.. studiously.. at university, and afterwards and now am able to enjoy the rewards of that effort. I have my masters in engineering (ergo the geek part of my tagline). I find my work interesting and challenging and relevant. I also enjoy that I get to occasionally speak to students and try inspire them to pursue further studies and careers in research.
In terms of playing hard - I'm an adrenaline junky. So snowboarding is an annual must. Scuba diving too. A weekend with out mountain biking is unfulfilled and a year without hiking, camping or backpacking is frankly just sub par. I have an adventure motorcycle, so I do that too, and have been known to go bungy jumping, abseiling, gorge swinging, river rafting and sky diving. I gym regularly and lead an active lifestyle so as to better enjoy these activities. Over seas, a new city (even London and New York) holds little appeal after the third day or so - I would rather go and do something in nature.
My music tastes tend towards instrumental, rock, alternative and metal but I'm mellowing with age. My humour is dry, witty and playful and not at others expense. My music skills exist, albeit barely, and I favour the guitar - both to play and to listen to.

There is mutual attraction. Intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual. I would like to look forward to seeing her, both at the end of a long day and with a smile when waking up with her in my arms.
A shared sense of adventure. Life is to be lived! Goals and dreams achieved and fulfilled. Sure, there is planning and hard work for the big ones, but the small ones are important too.
She is an educated and ambitious woman. With her own career in which she wants to succeed (on her own merits not by trampling others). She understands that some times work is hard and has long hours, because she experiences this too.
She wants to be at my side, not to lead or follow but be an equal active partner in the relationship and life in general.
She can change a light bulb and a tire, but probably not simultaneously.
